Use this guide to upgrade your MacBook Air Early-2015 13-inch laptop to a larger SSD.
The installation video below also includes the procedure to clone all of the data from your old SSD to the new one. Tip: Put the new SSD in the included enclosure, use the Disk Utility 'Restore' feature to make a complete clone of our old SSD to the new one, then switch the drives. (Note, currently only Transcend brand SSD's allow both the new and factory SSD to be used in the enclosure. OWC only support the Apple factory SSD in their enclosures, not the OWC Aura/Aura Pro X).
Tools
If you purchase the "blade only" OWC Aura/Aura Pro X SSD's, you may need the following tools:
- Torx T5 Screwdriver
- Pentalobe P5 Screwdriver
- Anti-static wrist strap
- Medium Anti-static mat
- Or, buy all of the above tools and more (except the mat) in the Essential Electronics Toolkit
- All the necessary tools along with an enclosure for your factory SSD are included with the SSD kits
